Plantation Jamaica Rum 10 y.o.

Special features: This rum is produced in the renowned Jamaican distilleries Clarendon Distillery and Long Pond Distillery. After a fermentation period of about two weeks, it is distilled using the pot still method. The rum then ages for eight years in 200-liter bourbon barrels under the tropical sun of Jamaica. For the final refinement, it is aged for two years in 350-liter Ferrand barrels in France, which adds additional depth and complexity.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Intense aromas of tropical fruits such as banana and pineapple, accompanied by subtle notes of vanilla and spicy oak.
  • Palate: Complex flavor nuances with sweet notes of caramel and molasses, complemented by tropical fruits and spicy undertones of cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • Finish: Long and smooth, with hints of roasted coffee, toasted almonds, and a touch of molasses.

Distillery/Bottler: The Plantation Rum is bottled by Maison Ferrand, a renowned French company known for its high-quality spirits. Under the leadership of Alexandre Gabriel, who joined the company in 1989, the Plantation brand was created. Gabriel maintains close relationships with Caribbean distilleries and imports rare barrels to France to continue the aging process there. This method, known as "Double Ageing," gives Plantation rums their special depth and complexity.
