Prinz Alte Kirsche - Liter

Volume: 1 litre | Alcohol content: 41% | Chill filtration: Yes | Colouring: No

Special Features:

Alte Kirsche combines cherry distillate with a finishing touch of dried fruit. It starts with hand-selected sweet and sour cherries from sunny growing sites. After distillation, the spirit matures for several years in stoneware vessels, followed by several months in a Prinz Holzfass. Dried fruit added at the final stage gives the spirit its pleasant fruity sweetness, while a delicate wood note complements its cherry character.

This version contains 1 litre at 41% alcohol and comes without gift packaging. For drinking neat, a stemmed schnapps glass at 17 to 21 °C is suitable.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The aroma is intensely fruity and gentle, with a pleasant sweetness.
• Palate: The palate offers a full flavour of ripe cherries that lingers.
• Finish: The finish is long and mild.

Distillery/Bottler:

Fein-Brennerei Prinz is based in Hörbranz on the Austrian shore of Lake Constance. Its history dates back to 1886: a farm with an inn developed through cooperage and cider-making into today's distillery. The business is run by the fourth generation of the family.

Prinz distils its spirits in two passes, using vacuum technology and carefully separating the distillation fractions. For Alte Kirsche, processing begins at the fruit farm in the Leiblachtal: because cherries quickly lose their freshness, they are destemmed, pitted and mashed immediately after delivery.
