Special Features:

For this seasonally available summer speciality, Prinz combines raspberry schnapps with peppermint distillate. Hand-selected raspberries provide the fruity base, while vacuum distillation helps preserve their delicate aromas. The raspberry schnapps then rests in stoneware vessels for two to three years, allowing its characteristic raspberry aroma to develop. Only afterwards is peppermint distillate added, bringing a fresh herbal accent to the raspberry fruit.

This spirit contains no added colouring and comes in a 0.02-litre miniature at 34% alcohol. Prinz recommends serving it between 15 and 18 °C, with fresh raspberries added to the glass.

The spirit has a clear, direct character without heaviness. Its aromatic profile is precise.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Raspberry is clearly at the forefront on the nose. A delicate mint note adds a cool herbal scent.
• Palate: The palate is balanced yet lively, with juicy fruit, refreshing accents and a light spiciness.
• Finish: Fruit defines the finish. As it fades, mint adds a fresh accent that lingers a little longer.

Distillery/Bottler:

Fein-Brennerei Prinz is located in Hörbranz, on the Austrian shore of Lake Constance. Its history began in 1886, when Thomas Prinz founded a cider mill and a cooperage. He registered the distilling business in 1921. Since 2017, brothers Thomas IV. and Maximilian Prinz have run the family business in its fourth generation.

Since 2004, Prinz has used temperature-controlled fermentation vessels and vacuum distillation among its production methods. In cooled steel tanks, fruit purée with added yeast ferments at 16 to 18 °C while being stirred slowly. Distillation under reduced pressure lowers the boiling point by around 30 °C, helping protect delicate fruit aromas. At Obsthof Leiblachtal, opened in 2013, the business processes fresh fruit into mash, fruit purée and juice. A straining system introduced in 2017 removes stalks, seeds and skins before further processing.
