Redbreast 12 Cask Strength is a twelve-year-old Irish Single Pot Still Whiskey from Batch B1/24. Malted and unmalted barley form its foundation, and the spirit is triple-distilled in copper pot stills.

For maturation, Midleton combines American oak ex-bourbon casks with Spanish oak Oloroso sherry butts. The resulting aromas bring together tropical fruit, dried apricot and sultanas with vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon and toasted oak.

Batch B1/24 is bottled at a cask strength of 57.5%. The whiskey is bottled without colouring or chill filtration, and its bold, creamy texture accompanies an interplay of juicy fruit, sherry notes, spices and oak.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, exotic fruit and a touch of citrus meet dried apricot, sultanas, spices and toasted wood.
• Palate: The whiskey is rich, rounded and smooth on the palate, with abundant fruit and spices joined by sweet vanilla and a hint of oak.
• Finish: The finish is long and warming. Fruit and spices gradually give way to toasted oak and a malty barley note.

Distillery/Bottler:

This release is produced at Midleton Distillery in County Cork and is officially bottled under the Redbreast brand. For this whiskey, the distillery uses malted and unmalted barley, triple pot-still distillation, and bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks.

Through Redbreast, Irish Distillers continues an Irish Single Pot Still tradition whose roots reach back almost two centuries. Redbreast is also one of the few representatives of this whiskey category to have been produced continuously for more than a century.
