Special Features:

The VITI COLLECTION focuses on Cognacs from individual winegrowers and the places they come from. This Napoleon was produced by JPA, a cousin of the Landier family who works as a winegrower and distiller on the Saint-Simeux plateau in Fins Bois. His family has run the estate there for five generations and has practised organic viticulture since the 1980s. This Cognac is made from organically grown Ugni Blanc grapes. In 2011, the wine was double-distilled with its yeast in a copper Charentais still. The Cognac then matured in French oak.

In May 2019, a total of 720 bottles were filled by hand from the single cask identified as Lot No. 20-11. This six-year-old Cognac has an alcohol content of 45% and is bottled in a 0.7-litre bottle without chill filtration or added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Ripe peach and apricot emerge on the nose, accompanied by subtle oak notes.
• Palate: Sweetness and spice meet gentle vanilla notes on the palate.
• Finish: The long, smooth finish leaves warmth and a delicate nutty note.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Landier family has been based in the heart of Fins Bois since 1890. Their history as Cognac producers began in the hamlet of Cors, on the terroir known as Terre de Groie. The house’s connection to this place is also reflected in the brand’s Pax symbol: it recalls the Benedictine monks of Bassac Abbey, who maintained a farm with a distillery there as early as the beginning of the 18th century.

Jean-Yves Landier and his daughter Géraldine jointly founded Chai27 in Rouillac in 2012. There, the family brings together its maturation cellar, bottling and storage facilities, and its own boutique. In addition to Cognac, Pineau des Charentes and L’Orée du Bosquet wines are also produced under their direction. Géraldine represents the fifth generation of the family of producers.
