Special Features:

Rémy Martin XO is a Fine Champagne Cognac blending up to 400 eaux-de-vie from Grande and Petite Champagne. The youngest component spends at least ten years in French oak casks, with older spirits completing the blend. This complex assemblage brings together candied fruit, flowers, nuts, spices and cocoa, with a full, supple mouthfeel.

The fruit notes include dried figs and passion fruit. Delicate touches of jasmine and honey, along with a hint of nutmeg, add to the aromatic range. XO was introduced in 1981 and is recognisable by its distinctive sun-shaped decanter.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals a pronounced abundance of white flowers and candied fruit.
• Palate: On the palate, ripe plum, dried fig and candied orange give way to spicy notes of nutmeg and freshly ground hazelnuts.
• Finish: Roasted cocoa beans and honey-sweet gingerbread linger through the long finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Maison Rémy Martin was founded in 1724 by a winegrower from the Cognac region and is part of Rémy Cointreau. Since 1948, the house has used grapes exclusively from Grande and Petite Champagne. The eaux-de-vie made from these grapes form the basis of its Fine Champagne Cognacs.

Production involves double distillation and extended cask ageing; the house's sites include the cellars at Merpins. Baptiste Loiseau has been cellar master since 2014 and is responsible for the Maison's aromatic signature. For XO, eaux-de-vie aged separately in different casks are brought together in the blend. Rémy Martin XO is an official bottling of the house.
