Special features: This 11-year-old Highland Single Malt was bottled by Signatory Vintage in the 100 PROOF Edition #67. It matured in a combination of First Fill Oloroso Sherry Hogsheads and Bourbon Barrels, resulting in a balanced profile of fruity sherry notes and sweet bourbon aromas. It was bottled at a robust 57.1% ABV.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Warm notes of raisins, honeyed malt, vanilla, citrus fruits, and sweet sherry spice, accompanied by a hint of toasted oak.
- Palate: Full-bodied and vibrant, with flavors of dried fruits, caramel, orange peel, sweet malt, cocoa, and baking spices, balanced by bourbon-typical vanilla and light oak.
- Finish: Long and warming, with lingering sherry sweetness, gentle spice, and soft oak richness.
Distillery/Bottler: The Royal Brackla Distillery was founded in 1812 by Captain William Fraser on the Cawdor Estate near Nairn, Scotland. It was the first distillery to receive the royal warrant from King William IV in 1833 and was allowed to call itself "The King's Own Whisky." Today, the distillery is operated by John Dewar & Sons, a subsidiary of Bacardi.
