Special Features:

A finish involving three different types of sherry cask shapes this 21-year-old single malt. The whisky first matures in American oak, then spends time in casks that previously held Oloroso, Palo Cortado or Pedro Ximénez.

Each sherry style adds something different to the distillery’s fruity character: Oloroso brings spice and dried-fruit notes, Palo Cortado fruit and nuttiness, and Pedro Ximénez a concentrated, syrupy sweetness. In the whisky, fragrant summer berries and darker berry notes mingle with syrupy toffee, cinnamon and muscovado sugar. Bottled at 46% without added colouring or chill filtration, it has a full, velvety mouthfeel.

• Nose: Ripe raspberries and dark cherries appear on the nose, accompanied by cinnamon.
• Palate: On the palate, juicy blackberries and elderberries meet winter spices, with a rich texture.
• Finish: The long, balanced finish leaves lingering fruit notes and a delicate touch of cinnamon spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

Royal Brackla Distillery stands near Nairn on the Cawdor Estate in the Scottish Highlands. Captain William Fraser founded it there in 1812. In 1833, it became the first Scotch whisky distillery to receive a Royal Warrant, granted by King William IV. Today, Royal Brackla belongs to John Dewar & Sons within the Bacardi group.

The distillery makes its single malt from malted barley and distils it in copper pot stills. It sources its barley from Scotland. Sherry-cask finishes are part of the Royal Brackla range; for the 21-year-old, the three sherry styles named above are combined.
