Special Features:

Compared with the 18-year-old expression in the same range, this 21-year-old blended Irish whiskey contains a higher proportion of Northern Irish single malt matured in Madeira casks. It is bottled at 40% in 0.7-litre bottles, without chill filtration or added colouring.

Apples and pears, citrus and dried fruit sit alongside honey, nuts and dark chocolate. Oak, spices and leather lend maturity to the fruit-led profile.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, browned butter, baked apple and poached pear meet cinnamon, honeycomb and hazelnut. Oak, vanilla and caramel mingle with orange peel, dried fruit including mango, a little sugar syrup and a hint of straw.
• Palate: Toffee and butterscotch lead on the palate. They are followed by lively, citrusy orange marmalade and oats, with vanilla, cinnamon and peppery accents. Raisins, orange peel and apricot jam meet gingerbread, dark chocolate and malty notes.
• Finish: The long finish is creamy and layered, with toffee, buttery notes, oak and woody spice alongside berries and leather.

Atom Brands is responsible for blending and bottling this Irish whiskey. The company emerged in 2011 from the business behind spirits retailer Master of Malt; That Boutique-y Whisky Company followed in 2012. Its work includes developing spirits and designing their packaging. Atom Brands is a trading name of Atom Supplies Limited.
