Scapa 10 y.o.

Special features: The Scapa 10 Year Single Malt Whisky is produced at the renowned Scapa Distillery on the Orkney Islands in Scotland. This whisky matures for 10 years in former American oak barrels, giving it a balanced combination of tropical fruitiness and subtle spice. Bottled at 48% alcohol content, it presents itself in natural color without the addition of coloring agents and without chill filtration.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Fresh pineapple slices and mango ice lead to enticing crème brûlée, pancakes drizzled with honey, and cinnamon rolls, rounded off with a hint of citrus peel.
  • Palate: Stewed apples with warming spices and vanilla pudding combine with light notes of banana, charred oak, and milk chocolate.
  • Finish: Fruity and spicy, with a lasting impression of tropical fruits and fine oak.

Distillery/Bottler: The Scapa Distillery, founded in 1885, is beautifully located on Scapa Flow on the island of Mainland in the Orkney Islands. Known for its unique Lomond wash still, it produces whiskies with a characteristic honeyed flavor and less peat notes than many other island whiskies. The distillery exclusively uses used ex-bourbon barrels for maturation.
