Scapa’s 16-year-old single malt is the centrepiece of the collection introduced in 2024. The whisky matures on Orkney in former bourbon casks made from American oak and is bottled at 48%. It is non-chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

Tropical fruit and clementine meet vanilla cream, apple pie and gentle oak spice. Leather and a creamy texture complement the fruit. This non-smoky expression comes in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, juicy mango and clementine zest mingle with vanilla cream and aromatic leather.
• Palate: The whisky feels silky and creamy on the palate. Spiced apple pie, vanilla fudge and gentle oak sit alongside baked pineapple, with pepper and a citrus note reminiscent of lime sweets.
• Finish: The medium-length finish combines wood spices and a sweetness reminiscent of dessert wine with a creamy custard note.

Distillery/Bottler:

Scapa Distillery stands beside Scapa Flow on Orkney. Macfarlane and Townsend built the distillery there in 1885. Following extensive renovation in 2004, it opened a visitor centre for the first time in 2015.

Scapa operates its small distillery manually, overseeing production from milling through distillation. The malt is dried without peat. Scapa uses just one pair of stills; its Lomond Wash Still, installed in 1959, has a wider, taller neck that encourages a richer, fruitier new make spirit.
