Scapa 16 y.o.
Special features: The Scapa 16 years is the centerpiece of the Scapa Single Malt collection and a masterpiece of long maturation. Aged for 21 years in first-fill American oak barrels on the Orkney Islands, this whisky combines the typical distillery style with the depth and elegance imparted by the American oak. Each batch is produced only once a year, is not chill-filtered, and bottled at cask strength – a testament to the craftsmanship of the distillery.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Aromas of juicy mangoes, leather, vanilla cream, and a hint of clementine peels.
Palate: Silky and creamy with notes of spiced apple pie, vanilla pudding, and gentle oak.
Finish: Complex, fruity, and slightly spicy.
Distillery/Bottler: The Scapa Distillery, founded in 1885, is located on the island of Mainland in the Orkney Islands of Scotland. It is known for its manual production and the use of a unique Lomond Wash Still, which significantly contributes to the fruity and oily character of the whisky.
