Special features: The Scapa 21 years is a limited release that is bottled annually at cask strength. After 21 years of maturation in American oak barrels, it is presented unfiltered and without coloring, which underscores its authenticity.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Intense aromas of homemade apricot jam and fresh raspberries, accompanied by ripe bananas and a hint of nutmeg.
Palate: Full-bodied with notes of fresh peaches and mangoes, embedded in a vanilla cream, refined with cardamom and a touch of cinnamon.
Finish: Long-lasting and syrupy, with lingering fruit notes and a pleasant sweetness.
Distillery/Bottler: The Scapa Distillery, founded in 1885, is located on the island of Mainland in the Orkney Islands of Scotland. After a comprehensive renovation in 2004, the distillery resumed production in 2005. It is known for using a Lomond Still, a special type of pot still that produces a particularly fruity and oily new make spirit. This is matured in American oak barrels, which shapes the characteristic fruity flavor of Scapa whisky.
