Special features: The Scarabus 30 years is the oldest release in the Scarabus series from Hunter Laing to date. This Islay Single Malt has matured in first-fill bourbon casks and presents itself in natural color without the addition of colorants and without chill filtration. With an alcohol content of 42.6% vol., it offers an intense tasting experience.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Strong, earthy notes dominate, accompanied by maritime freshness, salty spray, and a smoky hint of ham. Toffee, vanilla, and citrus nuances give the aroma a creamy sweetness.
- Palate: Full-bodied and complex. Smoky components meet a salty coastal breeze and flavors of grilled meat. In the background, caramel sweetness, vanilla cream, and a slight fruitiness develop.
- Finish: Long and balanced. The salty-peaty note remains present, embedded in sweet-spicy nuances and a gentle hint of Islay smoke.

The Laing family has been in the Scotch whisky business for over three generations and has built a reputation for bottling high-quality single malts. In 2018, Hunter Laing opened the Ardnahoe Distillery on Islay to meet the growing demand for peaty Scotch whisky.
