Special Features:

The 17-year-old “Into the Blue” from the Diageo Special Releases 2025 brings together two Glen Ord parcels with different finishes. Both first matured in refill casks. One then spent five years in Spanish second-fill sherry butts; the other remained longer in refill casks before a three-year finish in Mexican ex-mezcal casks. The whiskies were then married. The finished whisky is 17 years old, combining ripe fruit and raisins with aromatic spice and lightly vegetal notes.

The whisky is bottled at 55.5% in a 0.2-litre bottle and comes in a tube. It is not chill-filtered and contains no colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is gentle, dry and aromatic. Delicate spice reminiscent of nutmeg or cinnamon accompanies subtle fruit and a hint of raisins, alongside lightly vegetal notes that recall mezcal.
• Palate: On the palate, the whisky is smooth, sweet and slightly salty. Bold ginger lends weight to its savoury character, joined by honeyed sweetness.
• Finish: The finish is long, savoury and warming, with white pepper. A few drops of water intensify the aromas without changing the balance of flavours.

Founded in 1838, Glen Ord Distillery stands near Muir of Ord on the Black Isle in the Scottish Highlands. It distils the single malt for The Singleton of Glen Ord. Diageo is responsible for this official bottling in the Special Releases 2025.
