Special Features:

The Silken Gown, part of the Diageo Special Releases 2023, is shaped by a finish in French oak casks that previously held Burgundy Chardonnay. This 14-year-old Singleton of Glendullan combines light fruit and sweet toffee with a silky, creamy texture and a buttery oak note. This original bottling contains 0.2 litres of whisky at its natural cask strength of 55%. It is not chill-filtered, contains no added colouring and comes in a tube.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, green apple and pear meet apricot and peach. Vanilla and citrus accompany grassy notes, sweet cereal and delicate pastry; a hint of white grapes and honey rounds out the fruit.
• Palate: The whisky feels silky and creamy on the palate. Toffee and butterscotch meet gentle orchard-fruit notes, while grapefruit, walnut and white pepper provide a fresh, nutty and spicy contrast to the sweetness.
• Finish: The medium-length finish remains soft and becomes a little drier. Toffee and apple peel linger with a hint of salted butter and light spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glendullan Distillery was founded in 1897 beside the River Fiddich in Dufftown. It is one of the three distilleries whose single malts appear under The Singleton brand, which is owned by Diageo Scotland Limited. Longer fermentation and gentle distillation contribute to the soft character of The Singleton whiskies. The Silken Gown comes from Glendullan and is an original bottling from the Diageo Special Releases 2023.
