This set brings together a 0.7-litre bottle of SLYRS Single Malt Whisky Classic and a SLYRS whisky glass in a gift box. The whisky matures in new American white oak casks, placing the influence of fresh oak at the centre rather than the previous contents of a bourbon or sherry cask. Vanilla, caramel, malty sweetness and woody notes are part of the character of this Classic bottling at 43%.

Fruity aromas and nutty sweetness meet a long, spicy finish. Regional raw materials, slow distillation and maturation in new American white oak shape its Bavarian style. Classic can be enjoyed neat; the glass and gift packaging are included.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is very intense and complex, combining apricot and orange peel with fresh ginger and caramel.
• Palate: On the palate, the whisky has an elegant structure and clearly perceptible sweetness, with notes of marzipan and walnut.
• Finish: The finish is long-lasting and remains intense, with spicy cinnamon notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

The story of SLYRS begins with a trip to Scotland taken by brewer and master distiller Florian Stetter in 1994. Visits to Speyside distilleries inspired him to make a single malt in his native Upper Bavaria. The first SLYRS single malt was distilled in 1999, and the whisky distillery in Neuhaus am Schliersee was established in 2007.

SLYRS uses two-row spring barley from the Munich area and water from the Bannwaldquelle spring in the Schliersee Alps. The barley malt is gently kiln-dried. The distillery's methods include fermentation over several days with its own whisky yeasts and slow distillation in copper stills. These processes are intended to preserve the malt's aromas. For maturation, SLYRS uses new American white oak casks from World Cooperage, whose wood contributes vanilla, caramel and woody notes.
