In La Kritz Xtra hot, chilli complements the bold flavour of liquorice root, giving this sweet liquorice liqueur a distinctly hot edge. Spitzmund makes it by hand without artificial colourings. The liqueur is vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free.

The liqueur contains 20% alcohol and comes in a bottle containing 0.5 litres. It can be enjoyed neat or used as a spicy ingredient in cocktails. Shake the bottle well before serving.

The liqueur contains liquorice. People with high blood pressure should avoid excessive consumption.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals sweet liquorice with spicy accents and gentle heat. A delicate salty note accompanies the aroma.
• Palate: On the palate, the liqueur is full-bodied and initially velvety before the chilli heat emerges. The sweetness of the liquorice remains balanced with the fiery chilli. Subtle roasted coffee notes and a delicate bittersweet quality round out the flavour.
• Finish: Sweetness and heat linger together in the long, intense finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Spitzmund grew out of Kiel’s bar scene. Founder Andreas Werner spent many years developing cocktails there and began turning that experience into his own spirit recipes in 2013. He founded the Spitzmund brand in 2014. The range includes gin and various liqueurs, produced in small batches. The brand name refers to the moment when the lips purse before the first sip.
