Spitzmund La Kritz Xtra salty centres on the contrast between liquorice spice and salt. Liquorice root provides the bold liquorice flavour, while the salty note counterbalances the sweetness. A creamy mouthfeel is part of this handcrafted liqueur’s character.

The liqueur is vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free. It contains no colouring, has an alcohol content of 20% and comes in a bottle containing 0.5 litres. It can be enjoyed neat or used to add a liquorice accent to cocktails.

The salty La Kritz variant won the World’s Best title in the Liquorice category at the 2026 World Liqueur Awards. The liqueur contains liquorice; people with high blood pressure should avoid excessive consumption.

Distillery/Bottler:

Spitzmund has its roots in Kiel and in founder Andreas Werner’s work as a bartender. Over many years, he developed his own cocktails and gained experience in combining different flavours. This laid the foundations for the brand and its own recipes in 2013. Spitzmund produces in small batches and offers egg and cream liqueurs as well as gin alongside its liquorice liqueurs.
