Special Features:

Ambassador's Choice No. 6 is a limited St. Kilian release. Distilled on 16 January 2019, this single malt matured for more than three years entirely in two 225-litre Amarone casks, #2671 and #3456. The whisky was bottled on 15 September 2022 at 54.2%, yielding 1,300 bottles of 0.5 litres each. It is not chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

Maturation entirely in Italian red-wine casks previously used for Amarone gives the whisky a pronounced fruit and oak character. Strawberry, raspberry, peach, blackberry, cherry and plum sit alongside vanilla cream, cocoa, dry tannins and spiced oak.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, red berries and ripe peach mingle with creamy vanilla and a subtle touch of oak spice.
• Palate: The full-bodied palate brings together creamy vanilla, blackberries, cherries and stewed plums, supported by a firm oak structure and spice.
• Finish: The long finish retains its oak spice and fruity sweetness before becoming drier towards the end.

Distillery/Bottler:

St. Kilian Distillers made and bottled this whisky in Rüdenau as an original bottling. Andreas Thümmler and David F. Hynes developed the plan for the distillery in 2012. After four years of construction, the first spirit flowed from two 6,000-litre Forsyths copper stills in 2016. For this release, a mash of 100% malted barley was fermented in Oregon pine washbacks before the spirit was distilled twice in Scottish pot stills.
