Distilled in 2009, this Strathmill matured for 16 years in refill bourbon barrel number 802557. Gordon & MacPhail bottled the whisky from this single cask in 2025 at 57.1%. Presented at natural colour and without chill filtration, the release is limited to 211 bottles.

Its delicate underlying character combines with citrus fruit, green apple and freshly cut grass. Pear, a hint of cocoa, black pepper and grapefruit lead into a long aftertaste marked by mango and delicate herbs.

Distillery/Bottler:

Strathmill Distillery stands in Keith on the banks of the River Isla. The site began as Strathisla Mills in 1823, and the mill was converted into the Glenisla-Glenlivet distillery in 1891. After its acquisition by W & A Gilbey, it was renamed Strathmill in 1895. Its light spirit can develop pronounced depth of flavour through careful cask maturation.

Gordon & MacPhail selected cask 802557, oversaw the whisky’s maturation and bottled it as an independent bottler for Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength. George Urquhart developed Connoisseurs Choice in the 1960s to make single malts from individual Scottish distilleries more widely accessible.
