Since 1968, Strathmill has used purifiers on its lyne arms, contributing to the distillate’s lightly oily character. Most of its malt goes into blended Scotch whisky, and it is rarely released as a single malt in its own right.
James Eadie is an independent Scottish bottler that matures and bottles selected single casks and small batches. For this Strathmill, the company oversaw the 31-month finish in first-fill Oloroso sherry butt #373082 and the subsequent bottling.
