Special features: This unique set allows for a comparison between two identical rums that have matured in different climates: one in the tropical climate of Jamaica and the other in the continental climate of Europe. Both rums were distilled at the renowned Monymusk distillery in Jamaica and carry the characteristic Wedderburn style. The tropical aging resulted in an ester content of 315.6 g/hlpa, while the continental aging had an ester content of 243.5 g/hlpa.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The tropical-aged rum presents intense aromas of ripe tropical fruits such as pineapple and mango, accompanied by spicy notes and a hint of vanilla. The continental-aged rum shows a subtler fruitiness with hints of dried fruits and a light wood note.
• Palate: On the palate, the tropical rum unfolds a strong spiciness with notes of pepper and nutmeg, supported by a creamy texture. The continental rum offers a balanced mix of fruitiness and spice, with an elegant structure and a hint of oak.
• Finish: The tropical rum finishes long and warm with a sweet aftertaste of caramel and tropical fruits. The continental rum leaves a medium-length finish with a pleasant dryness and a hint of nuts.

Distillery/Bottler: The Monymusk distillery, founded in 1949, is known for producing high-quality rum using traditional pot still methods. It is located in the Clarendon region of Jamaica and produces up to 12 million liters of alcohol annually. This rum was bottled by the Italian bottler Velier, known for its high-quality and authentic rum bottlings.
