Special Features:

This limited 25-year-old distillery bottling was matured predominantly in Bourbon Hogsheads and to a lesser extent in European refill casks. Bottled at 45.8% in a 0.7-litre bottle, it is presented in gift packaging.

Its long maturation combines maritime and mineral notes with mature fruit, caramel sweetness, bold spice and smoke. Initially gentle, it gains considerable intensity on the palate and leads into a very long, dry finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is maritime and mature: seaweed, chalk and distant smoke accompany aged orange, cider apple, banana, fudge, mandarin, liquorice and brown sugar.
• Palate: The whisky begins gently and sweetly on the palate before salt, acidity, white pepper and chilli steadily intensify, followed by heather, rose, salted caramel, chilli chocolate, smoky malt and nectarine.
• Finish: The finish is very long, dry and slightly bitter, with lingering sweet smoke and cedarwood.

Distillery/Bottler:

Talisker Distillery was founded in 1830 by Hugh and Kenneth McAskill and stands on the shores of Loch Harport on the Isle of Skye. The distillery produces the single malt presented here as a distillery bottling. Maritime aromas and pronounced peppery spice are hallmarks of the house style and are also clearly expressed in this 25-year-old release.
