Talisker Storm was launched in February 2013 and carries no age statement. Whiskies of different ages from refill bourbon casks and reconditioned casks are married for this bottling. The selection is therefore based on the desired character rather than a specified age.

Within the Talisker range, Storm is designed as a particularly smoky and spicy expression. Wood, brine and pepper shape the profile, while malty sweetness and fruit provide a counterpoint. Its name and maritime style reference the rugged, stormy coastal landscape of the Isle of Skye.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Powerful and clear, the nose presents sweet malt and ripe red berries, followed by smoke, brine and distinctly peppery spice. A delicate honeyed note accompanies the smoky malt character.
• Palate: On the palate, Talisker Storm begins soft and full-bodied with mouth-filling sweetness before bold spice emerges. Nutty smoke, salt and pepper remain closely intertwined.
• Finish: The finish is drier, medium in length and warming, with gentle peaty embers and lingering spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

Talisker has been made in Carbost on Loch Harport on the Isle of Skye since 1830. The MacAskill brothers established what is now the island’s oldest operating distillery there. Its location on Scotland’s west coast provides the historical and geographical context for the brand’s smoky, peppery and maritime style.
