Special features: This 21-year-old single malt whisky from the renowned Tamdhu Distillery in the Scottish Speyside matured entirely in carefully selected first-fill and refill Oloroso sherry casks made of Spanish and American oak. This traditional maturation gives the whisky remarkable depth and complexity. Bottled at natural cask strength with 47.5% ABV, without chill filtration and without coloring, this whisky presents itself in its purest form.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Intense aromas of raisins, orange peel, and dark chocolate, accompanied by oak wood, dried figs, and fine spices.
- Palate: Full-bodied and velvety with notes of dates, mocha, sherry, cloves, vanilla, and roasted nuts.
- Finish: Very long, warming, and rich with spicy oak and sweet fruity undertones.
Distillery/Bottler: The Tamdhu Distillery, founded in 1897, is located in the heart of Speyside and is known for its exclusive maturation in sherry casks. After a tumultuous history, the distillery was acquired by Ian Macleod Distillers in 2011 and reopened in 2012. Since then, it has dedicated itself to producing high-quality single malts that are appreciated for their depth and complexity.
