Tamdhu Distinction
Special features: This limited edition celebrates the art of maturation in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks made from American oak. The casks undergo a careful journey: from the North American forest to the Andalusian sherry region and then to the Tamdhu distillery in Scotland. This process gives the whisky a deep amber color and complex aromas.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Warming notes of cinnamon and vanilla, accompanied by fresh citrus fruits and a hint of cherry.
Palate: Full-bodied and velvety with flavors of plums, dates, dark chocolate, and subtle oak notes.
Finish: Long and warming with a pleasant sweetness and a touch of syrup.
Distillery/Bottler: The Tamdhu Distillery, founded in 1897, is located in the heart of the Scottish Speyside region. Known for its exclusive maturation in Oloroso sherry casks, Tamdhu produces whiskies with a distinctive sherry character. After a brief closure, the distillery was acquired by Ian Macleod Distillers in 2012 and reopened in 2013.
