Special Features:

A 20-month finish in a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt made of European oak gives this Speyside single malt its pronounced sherry and spice character. Tamnavulin distilled the whisky in 2013; James Eadie bottled it in 2025 at eleven years old as a Germany Exclusive single-cask release from cask no. 373071. The 315 bottles contain whisky at a cask strength of 57.4%, with natural colour and no chill filtration.

Dried figs and dark raisins mingle with caramel and cocoa. Plum butter, dark chocolate and oak spice carry the fruit sweetness through, while espresso adds a bold note to the finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals dried figs and dark raisins alongside sweet caramel. A subtle cocoa note and baking spices complement the pronounced sherry character.
• Palate: On the palate, rich plum butter and dark chocolate meet pronounced oak spice. A subtle nuttiness complements the full fruit sweetness.
• Finish: The finish is intense and lingering. Woody spice remains present before a bold espresso note emerges.

Distillery/Bottler:

Tamnavulin Distillery stands in Speyside on the site of a former wool mill and began operating in 1966. It uses malted barley and spring water from the surrounding mountains. After fermentation, it distils in copper stills and selects the heart of the spirit for maturation. The independent bottler James Eadie, however, handled the Oloroso finish for this release.

The Scottish brewer James Eadie founded a brewing and bottling business in 1854. His great-great-grandson Rupert Patrick later revived the family story. Today, James Eadie focuses its limited whisky releases on additional cask maturation, single casks and small batches. It handled both the finish and the bottling of this Tamnavulin.
