The Tawny Port cask finish gives this single malt from Tamnavulin’s Cask Editions range a darker fruit character. Before the finish, the whisky matures in American ex-bourbon casks. The Port Cask Edition was introduced in 2024.

In this bottling, Tamnavulin’s fruity character is joined by berries, plum and dark chocolate. Pear, berry compote and creamy caramel shape the palate, while walnut also features among its aromas. The finish is gentle and nutty, with mild spice. The whisky is offered at 40% in a 0.7-litre bottle with gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose brings ripe red berries and plums, accompanied by dark chocolate, rose syrup, sweet pastries and spiced orange.
• Palate: On the palate, pears poached in honey mingle with berry compote, dried fruit and creamy caramel.
• Finish: The finish is gentle and nutty, with lingering fruit, mild spice and an elegant sweetness.

Distillery/Bottler:

Tamnavulin Distillery makes the single malt in the Speyside village of Tomnavoulin. The distillery opened in 1966 on the site of a former wool mill, whose waterwheel is now depicted on the bottles. After a temporary closure beginning in 1995, it resumed operations in 2000.

In 2010, Tamnavulin changed the shape of its stills to produce a richer spirit for maturation in wine casks. For its cask editions, the distillery first uses American ex-bourbon casks, followed by a further finish. Tamnavulin is part of Whyte & Mackay Ltd.’s brand portfolio.
