Special Features:

Distilled in January 2007, this Teaninich matured for 15 years in a single American oak cask. Hart Brothers selected the whisky and bottled it in September 2022 at its natural cask strength of 53.6%. This single-cask bottling is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

Ripe tropical fruit, strawberries and creamy vanilla form the fruity core. Orange marmalade, black and white pepper, and chilli combine sweetness with spice, while citrus peel and dry oak shape the medium-length finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose gradually opens with fresh orchard fruit and tropical fruit, accompanied by creamy vanilla and strawberries. Red berries and orange peel emerge with more time.
• Palate: The whisky is full-bodied on the palate. Black and white pepper and chilli meet creamy vanilla and orange marmalade, followed by orange and lime peel and a delicate oak note.
• Finish: The medium-length finish begins with spice before fruity sweetness and citrus bitterness take over. A dry, mildly astringent oak note remains at the end.

Distillery/Bottler:

Teaninich Distillery in Alness is a Highland distillery founded by Captain Hugh Munro in 1817. Since 2000, it has used a hammer mill and mash filter instead of a traditional mash tun. This process produces particularly clear wort, while the bulbous stills contribute to the spirit’s oily texture.

Iain and Donald Hart founded Hart Brothers Limited in 1964 as a wine and spirits wholesaler and Scotch whisky blender. As an independent bottler, the company allows selected rare malt and grain whiskies to mature further, tastes them carefully and bottles suitable whisky from individual casks. Hart Brothers adds nothing to its malt whisky other than pure water.
