Special Features:

The fourth edition in the Rising Reserve series combines bourbon-cask maturation with a white wine cask finish: this 21-year-old Irish single malt initially matured for 18 years in bourbon casks, followed by three years in French white wine casks.

The second maturation stage shapes a profile of candied lemon, tropical fruit, cookie dough and white chocolate. Vanilla, toffee, toasted barley, soft tannins, orchard fruit and honey add to its layered character.

Limited to 6,000 bottles, the whiskey is bottled at 46%. It is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals candied lemon, vanilla, cookie dough and toffee, accompanied by a hint of toasted barley.
• Palate: On the palate, bright tropical fruit and citrus notes mingle with white chocolate notes and soft tannins.
• Finish: The finish is long and smooth, with layered hints of orchard fruit and honey.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Teeling Whiskey Company selected the long-matured casks, carried out the three-year white wine cask finish and bottled Rising Reserve #4.

The Teeling family traces its Dublin whiskey history to Walter Teeling’s small distillery, established in 1782. Jack and Stephen Teeling began the company’s modern era in 2012 and opened the first new distillery in Dublin in over 125 years in the Liberties in 2015. Unconventional maturation methods are a defining element of the company’s approach.
