Special Features:

Weden Emo combines maturation in bourbon casks with a finish in Amarone red wine casks. This ten-year-old single malt is the second release in Teerenpeli’s Amarone Cask Whisky Trilogy. The wine casks contribute to its reddish copper sheen and wine-like notes.

Ripe red fruit and vanilla meet a full berry flavour and pleasant spice. This distillery bottling is limited to 1,120 bottles, each containing 0.5 litres at 50.7% alcohol. It is not chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose brings ripe red fruit and vanilla pod, accompanied by a wine-like aroma.
• Palate: The whisky is full and robust on the palate, with dark berries and pleasant spice.
• Finish: The finish lingers, with fruit, subtle spice, dry woody spice and delicate vanilla.

Distillery/Bottler:

The family-run Teerenpeli Distillery began producing whisky in Lahti in 2002. Its first distillery was established in the Taivaanranta restaurant in the city centre; a larger facility followed beside the Teerenpeli Brewery in 2015. Teerenpeli distils in pot stills made in Scotland and uses former bourbon and sherry casks, among others, for its whiskies. Master distiller Jaakko Joki oversees production from the selection of malted barley to the choice of casks for bottling. Teerenpeli bottled Weden Emo itself.
