The Hearach Croft Strength is the more powerful expression of the Harris single malt, bottled at 52%. Made from 100% Scottish barley and soft water from the Outer Hebrides, the whisky matures in a combination of ex-bourbon, Oloroso sherry and Fino sherry casks. It is lightly peated, non-chill filtered and has no added colouring; the bottle contains 0.7 litres.
In this more powerful expression, caramel and toffee meet light and dark fruits, heather, white spices, wood and gentle smoke. Its soft texture provides a balanced contrast.

The Hearach is distilled, matured, married and bottled on Harris; this Croft Strength is an official bottling from the Isle of Harris Distillery. Keeping these stages on the island is part of the distillery's social purpose, which aims to create lasting skilled employment within the local community.
The distillery opened in Tarbert in September 2015. The Gaelic name The Hearach refers to a person from Harris. Croft Strength extends this connection to its origins by honouring the small agricultural crofts and the crofters who have shaped island life for generations.
