Special Features:

This Irish whiskey’s triple-oak concept has three dimensions: triple distillation, three whiskey styles and three types of cask. The blend combines single pot still, single malt and single grain whiskeys matured in bourbon, Oloroso sherry and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.

The whiskey is bottled at 40%. Salted caramel and creamy vanilla form its sweet core, while citrus, nuts, dried fruit and oak spice add definition. Its character is therefore shaped by both the combination of three whiskey styles and the choice of casks.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Salted caramel and vanilla lead on the nose. Toffee, gentle oak spice, citrus, honey, dark chocolate and a hint of nuts complete the aroma.
• Palate: The whiskey is soft and creamy on the palate, with vanilla, honey and caramel. Toasted oak, citrus peel, dried fruit and warming spices balance the sweetness.
• Finish: The finish is long, gently tingling and fades with honeyed sweetness.

Distillery/Bottler:

Boann Distillery is an independent family business owned by the Cooney family in the Boyne Valley near Drogheda. Following more than 50 years of family experience in the Irish drinks industry, the distillery began production in December 2019, bringing whiskey distillation back to Drogheda after an absence of more than 160 years. Boann uses custom-made copper pot stills and a combination of malted and unmalted barley, oats, wheat and rye to produce its own single pot still whiskey. The Whistler range was named as a tribute to Pat Cooney and his characteristic whistling.
