Special Features:

This single-cask bottling matured for eleven years in a first-fill sherry butt. The whisky was distilled at Tomatin in January 2013; Hart Brothers bottled it at cask strength in March 2024 at 54.9%. The 0.7-litre bottling is non-chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

The first-fill sherry butt gives the whisky a pronounced sherry character with dried fruit, nuts and spice. The broader aromatic spectrum includes raisins, figs and dates alongside dark chocolate and espresso, complemented by orange, caramel, cinnamon and oak.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Pronounced sherry aromas and dark fruit emerge on the nose. Raisins and dried apricots meet roasted nuts, cinnamon and subtle oak spice.
• Palate: On the palate, full-bodied sherry combines with caramel and nutty notes. A hint of dark chocolate and delicate spice adds further depth to the sweet, fruity profile.
• Finish: The finish is long and warming. Elegant dryness, lingering spice, dried fruit and delicate oak spice define the aftertaste.

Distillery/Bottler:

Tomatin was founded in 1897 on the upper reaches of the River Findhorn in the Scottish Highlands. The single malt used for this bottling was distilled there in January 2013.

Hart Brothers traces its roots to a family active in the hospitality trade in Paisley in the late 19th century. Iain and Donald Hart founded the company in 1964 as a wine and spirits wholesaler and Scotch whisky blender; Alistair Hart joined them in 1975. Today, the independent bottler sources rare casks of malt and grain whisky, allows them to mature further and, after careful tasting, decides which are suitable for single-cask bottlings.
