The bottling is not smoky and thus provides a milder expression that takes into account the regional characteristics.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The nose reveals fine, light smoke (about 12 to 15 PPM), accompanied by sherry with hints of dried fruits like raspberries, almonds, and light as well as dark caramel notes with vanilla mousse.
- Palate: On the palate, the whisky presents itself as spicy, elegant, and subtly peaty: sherry-soaked fruits combine with rose water, almond flakes, and vanilla raisin ice cream.
- Finish: The finish is medium-bodied, with a delicate smoke lingering with vanilla, sherry, and almonds.
Distillery/Bottler: The Tormore Distillery was built in 1958 and is known for its unique architecture, which was listed as a historic monument in 1986. In 2022, it was acquired by Elixir Distillers. The original bottling underscores the artisanal quality of the distillery and opens up a complex tasting experience with every sip.
