Tormore 12 y.o. is part of Tormore’s first permanent core range, launched in summer 2026. Its 12-year maturation combines first-fill bourbon casks, toasted Cream Sherry casks, and new American white oak casks that have been toasted and charred. The bourbon casks support notes of vanilla and orchard fruit, while the Cream Sherry casks contribute richer sweetness and gentle nuttiness. The new American white oak adds spice and structure. This official bottling is released at 46%, with natural colour and without chill filtration.

The whisky combines peach cake and poached pear with vanilla sauce, vanilla fudge and creamy sweetness. Toasted almonds and coconut complement the fruity profile, while gentle spice and oak give structure to the warming, slightly dry finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose brings together peach cake with vanilla sauce, vanilla fudge and poached pear; gentle spice and delicate oak complement the ripe fruit.
• Palate: The whisky is soft and silky on the palate; juicy fruit, toasted almonds, coconut and a pleasant oak note shape its creamy character.
• Finish: The medium-length finish brings toasted almonds and a touch of coconut before fading with a gentle dryness.

Distillery/Bottler:

Built in 1959 in Speyside’s Cromdale Hills, Tormore Distillery long produced malt whisky primarily for blends. Elixir Distillers acquired the distillery in 2022 and resumed production in January 2023 under Distillery Manager Polly Logan. The team experimented with different barley varieties, yeasts, fermentation times and cut points to bring out Tormore’s fruity, richly textured house character more deliberately. During maturation, the oak is likewise intended to complement this character rather than obscure it with wood and tannins.
