Special Features:

Its high malt content gives Unplugged a fruit-led foundation. More than 80% of the blend is malt whisky, chiefly from Linkwood, Ballindalloch and Benrinnes, matured in first- and second-fill bourbon casks. A small proportion of peated Ledaig brings smoke, while grain whisky from sherry casks adds a darker cask note to the Speyside whiskies.

Turntable brings the different whiskies together without obscuring the orchard fruit, vanilla, floral notes or delicate trace of smoke. Unplugged is bottled at 46% without chill filtration or added colouring. It received 92 points at the 2025 International Wine & Spirit Competition.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Ripe pear and apple appear on the nose alongside vanilla, honey and delicate floral notes. A trace of peat smoke remains in the background.
• Palate: On the palate, apple, pear and baked apricot mingle with creamy vanilla, honey, malt sweets and toffee. Gentle spice and a light smoky note accompany the fruit.
• Finish: The medium-length finish combines apple peel, creamy caramel and honey with a lightly malty note. Gentle smoke and oak spice linger.

Distillery/Bottler:

Brothers Alasdair and Gordon Stevenson founded Turntable Spirits, bringing more than twenty years of combined experience in the whisky industry. Their Turntable Blending House is in Glasgow. There they create Blended Scotch in small batches, paying particular attention to the quality of the whiskies, cask selection and sufficient time to mature.

The musical name reflects their approach: whiskies from different distilleries and casks should work together in a blend without losing their individual character. Turntable puts the composition and its openly named components centre stage, rather than a single distillery.
