Special Features:

Wellenbrecher combines juniper with cucumber, lime and rose. This combination gives the handmade gin from northern Germany a citrus-floral character with a subtle maritime touch. It is suitable for sipping neat as well as for gin and tonic and other cocktails.

The maritime design continues on the colourful label, which features waves, a starfish and a compass. The clear glass bottle has a natural-looking wooden closure. This bottling contains 0.7 litres at 41% alcohol and comes without gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Cucumber and lime meet delicate rose-petal notes on the nose, alongside a subtle maritime impression.
• Palate: Herbal and citrus flavours stand out on the palate. A gentle floral sweetness accompanies them, while delicate spice notes round out the flavour profile.
• Finish: Floral notes linger through the long finish, accompanied by gentle spice and a trace of salt.

Distillery/Bottler:

Wellenbrecher is the work of spirits developer Thomas Köhler from Borgwedel in Schleswig-Holstein. He launched his first product, Schlei-Aquavit, in 2010; Wellenbrecher Gin and Hafen-Nutte liqueur were among the products that followed. Köhler contributes not only to product concepts and recipes but also handles aspects of design and branding. The connection to northern Germany links the various products in his range.
