Special Features:

Three years of additional maturation after blending shape this 21-year-old White Heather. Billy Walker selected malt and grain whiskies from the Highlands, Islay and Speyside. Malt whisky accounts for 47% of the blend, including aged GlenAllachie and peated Islay Single Malt.

The individual whiskies first spent 18 years in a combination of first-fill American oak barrels, sherry butts, and second-fill barrels and hogsheads. After blending, the whisky spent a further three years in selected Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso puncheons and Appalachian Virgin Oak casks made from new oak. The latter were medium toasted and medium charred. The whisky is bottled at 48% alcohol without chill filtration or added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Heather honey and butterscotch stand out against gentle peat smoke, while delicate tannins remain in the background. A dark sherry note adds to the bouquet.
• Palate: Heather honey and butterscotch mingle with orange peel and soft tannins. A clearly perceptible smoky note joins them.
• Finish: Honeyed sweetness, orange peel and oak spice linger through the medium-length finish, with a subtle smoky note remaining.

Distillery/Bottler:

White Heather combines whiskies from several distilleries and regions; it is not a single malt from GlenAllachie Distillery. The brand disappeared from the market in the 1980s. The GlenAllachie Distillers Company acquired it in 2017 and revived it under Billy Walker’s direction. Walker, who began his career as a blender, developed the recipe in the laboratory at GlenAllachie Distillery. The selected malt and grain whiskies are blended and matured further there; The GlenAllachie Distillers Company is responsible for bottling.
