Special Features:

Willett Pot Still Reserve combines a small-batch bourbon with a distinctive bottle design. The miniature reproduces the shape of Willett's patented still, built by Vendome Copper and Brass. It contains 0.05 litres of Kentucky Straight Bourbon at 47% alcohol.

The grain recipe consists of 65% corn, 20% wheat and 15% barley. The whiskey enters the casks at 57.5% alcohol and is bottled at 47% after maturation. Its character brings together sweet vanilla and citrus notes with spices; on the palate, buttery corn and caramel add to this range of flavours.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Pronounced brown sugar initially takes centre stage on the nose. Lemon and orange peel lend a slight fruitiness to the sweet impression. The bourbon also recalls lemon cake with vanilla.
• Palate: Vanilla and citrus notes combine with spices on the palate. Pepper and cloves bring warmth, while corn contributes a buttery note. A little caramel emerges later.
• Finish: A pronounced toffee note lingers on the finish, complemented by delicate oak and floral notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

Willett Distillery is located in Bardstown, Kentucky. Thompson Willett founded it in 1936 on the family farm; in 1937, the first whiskey was put into storage in Warehouse A. Thompson had learned the art of distillation from his father Lambert. The family's connection with whiskey production therefore reaches back further than the present distillery.

Martha Willett Kulsveen and her husband Even bought the distillery site in 1984. During the years without distillation on site, Even developed his experience in selecting matured whiskeys and creating small batches. As the fifth generation of the family, Britt and Drew Kulsveen built on this work: Drew initially focused on blending whiskeys and later developed additional grain recipes for the bourbon and rye range.
