Special Features:

Full maturation in Oloroso sherry casks defines Wolfburn 10 Year Old: the whisky spends an entire decade in selected second-fill casks. This is sherry cask maturation throughout, rather than a subsequent finish. It was Wolfburn's first age-stated release to become a permanent part of the range.

The Single Malt is bottled at 46% without chill filtration or added colouring. The 0.7-litre bottle comes in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, figs and raisins mingle with gentle sherry sweetness. Vanilla and oak add subtle nuances.
• Palate: Pronounced chocolate and dark fruit notes lead on the palate. Caramel and vanilla accompany them, while nutmeg and wood smoke add delicate accents.
• Finish: Silky tannins give the finish its smooth texture. Lingering sweetness carries dried fruit and caramel notes that persist to the end.

Distillery/Bottler:

Wolfburn is located in Thurso on Scotland's north coast, in the region of Caithness. Its name recalls the historic distillery founded in 1821, which grew to become the largest in Caithness. Today, distillation, maturation and bottling take place at the Thurso site.

Wolfburn ferments its wort over several days. The fermented liquid is then distilled twice in copper pot stills, with the distillers selecting the heart of the distillation run for maturation. The casks are stored in traditional dunnage warehouses by the sea. Production water comes from the nearby Wolf burn.
