Special features: Batch 318 is the sixth release in the "Small Batch Release" series from Wolfburn. This lightly peated single malt was matured in a balanced combination of Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks, providing a subtle, spicy sherry note with a fine hint of peat smoke. The conscious restraint in sherry sweetness gives the whisky a balanced complexity without being overwhelming.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Fruity with notes of figs and apricots, underlined by gentle peat smoke spice.
- Palate: Honey-sweetened porridge, harmoniously combined with spices like cinnamon and ginger as well as a subtle sherry note.
- Finish: Dried fruits with a hint of caramel and a long-lasting, fine peat smoke.
