Special Features:

At the heart of Synchronicity is a single malt traded under the name Staoisha, drawn from a Rioja wine cask. Its pronounced wine influence gave Woven the starting point for bringing more spirit character back into the composition through the addition of other malts. The blend contains single malts from Benrinnes, Speyside Distillery and an unnamed Speyside distillery, alongside single grains from Invergordon and an unnamed Lowland distillery. The two grain whiskies bring the flavours together and contribute to the creamy texture and extended finish.

The whiskies were married on 17 July 2023 and then rested together for 21 days in ex-bourbon casks. The release comprises 3,502 bottles. Maritime malt notes give way to increasingly perceptible, subtle smoke, with marmalade sweetness accompanying this progression. The whisky was bottled at 46.1%, without chill filtration or colouring. The 0.5-litre bottle comes with gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is maritime and mineral, with flint and salty hints. Sweetish notes of smoky driftwood add another dimension.
• Palate: On the palate, the whisky has a medium to full body. Orchard fruits, vanilla and milk chocolate combine with earthy and waxy impressions reminiscent of an apple's waxy coating. There may also be a hint of beeswax, while subtle traces of soot and ash complete the picture.
• Finish: The finish is long, with lingering herbal notes and subtle smoke.

Distillery/Bottler:

Woven is a blending house in Leith, Edinburgh's port district. The team sources whisky casks from distilleries and brokers, building a stock with a range of ages and flavour profiles. Selected whiskies are placed in specially chosen wooden casks for further flavour development. At the blending table, what counts is each component's flavour, not its prestige or price.

The Experience bottlings are created in small, individually developed batches. Woven focuses on different compositions rather than continually reproducing a uniform profile. The company also uses other whisky businesses' facilities for storage, marrying and bottling. The participating distilleries supply the malt and grain whiskies; Woven shapes them into the finished blend.
