🍏 Thistly Cross – Scotland’s answer to really good cider
Who is behind Thistly Cross?
Thistly Cross Cider comes from a small town called Dunbar , on Scotland's east coast. There, amidst green hills, ancient orchards, and the North Sea breeze, the story of this extraordinary cider factory began in 2008.
Behind the name are not industrial corporations, but real craftsmen :
A passionate fruit farmer, a cider master with a passion for whisky cask aging – and a small team that fills every bottle with passion and craftsmanship.
🍎 The manufacturing process: Tradition meets craft
What makes Thistly Cross so special is the mix of traditional craftsmanship and creative recipes :
-
Regional apples are carefully harvested by hand – no industrial apples, no concentrates.
-
Fermentation takes up to six months – slower (and better!) than most industrial ciders.
-
Some varieties—like the legendary Whisky Cask Cider —are even matured in used Glen Moray whisky casks . This results in a taste you'll never forget: slightly smoky, with notes of vanilla and oak, and no artificial flavors.
đź’¬ My conclusion: Handmade, honest and damn delicious.
I didn't want something mainstream, but something authentic. Something that tasted of craftsmanship. Of nature. And a little bit of Scotland.
And that’s exactly what Thistly Cross is for me:
âś… Not a run-of-the-mill cider, but a real craft product.
Try it out – and tell me what you think. I bet you'll be as excited as I am.
