1731 Rum - Dominican Republic 5 yo

Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 46% | Chill filtration: No | Colouring: No

Special Features:

Ageing entirely in tropical conditions in ex-bourbon barrels shapes this Single Origin rum from the Dominican Republic. The column-distilled rums mature for at least five years before being selected for 1731 Fine & Rare. Regional character is central to the selection.

The rum is bottled at 46% without chill filtration. No sugar, colouring or other additives are added. The bottle contains 0.7 litres and comes in a tube.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, confectionery notes mingle with cherries, berries and coconut.
• Palate: The rum is sweet and spicy on the palate, while also somewhat light and dry. Citrus notes complement the spices.
• Finish: The finish lingers and fades to a dry close.

Distillery/Bottler:

1731 Fine & Rare is an independent rum brand from the Netherlands. Its selection spans the Caribbean and South America, highlighting the different regions of origin. For each Single Origin rum, the selected distillates come from a single country.

The concept combines ageing entirely in a tropical climate, natural colour and the absence of added sugar or other additives. Bottling without chill filtration and a drinking strength of 46% are also shared features of the Single Origin range.
