This Barbados rum combines two distillation methods: Foursquare produced it in 2011 using pot-still and column-still distillates. Aged for 14 years, this single-cask bottling comes from Barrel number 22. It belongs to the 2026 release of The Auld & The Bold range from Berry Bros. & Rudd, with a total of 239 bottles produced.

At 60.2%, this bottling has a high alcohol content. It contains no added colouring and has not been chill-filtered. Coconut sweetness and toffee meet fruit, pastry and distinct cask spice. The rum comes in a bottle containing 0.7 litres, without gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, mushroom-shaped coconut sweets and warm toffee mingle with singed oak.
• Palate: The palate offers buttery pastry, espresso crema, dark fruit and muscovado sugar. Beneath these lies ripe pineapple, its tropical fruitiness balanced by spicy notes from the charred cask wood.
• Finish: The long finish brings toasted coconut and molasses, with nutmeg adding a tingling spiciness.

Distillery/Bottler:

Foursquare in Barbados is run by the fourth generation of the Seale family. Master Distiller Richard Seale now oversees rum production. The distillery uses pot stills and distillation columns and focuses on long maturation in the tropical climate. Its approach includes using no added sugar, colouring or flavourings.

Berry Bros. & Rudd is the independent bottler behind this release. The family-run London business traces its origins to a shop opened by the widow Bourne on St James’s Street in 1698. Its early offerings included coffee, tea and spices. The focus later shifted to wine and spirits; since the early 19th century, the company has bottled spirits from casks under its own name.
