Special Features:

Fresh sugarcane juice is the starting point for this eight-year-old Dominicana from Rum Nation. The sugarcane grows on plantations surrounding the distillery in the Dominican Republic. Although it belongs to the Spanish rum style, this bottling combines ripe fruit with fresh eucalyptus notes and hints of green fruit. Restrained sweetness and a supple mouthfeel bring aromatic richness together with lightness.

The rum is bottled at 40.9% and comes in a 0.7-litre bottle with gift packaging. The red postage stamp motif on the label reflects its Dominican origins. Its fruit and chocolate notes also make it a suitable accompaniment to desserts.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, fresh sugarcane juice and ripe pears meet green eucalyptus notes. A light touch of chocolate complements the fresh, spicy impression.
• Palate: The rum feels exceptionally soft on the palate. Orange peel, pineapple and ripe fruit remain present before the flavours move into the finish.
• Finish: The long finish remains soft, with dark chocolate and coffee notes carrying through.

Distillery/Bottler:

Fabio Rossi founded Rum Nation in 1999 to make the distinctive rum styles of different countries accessible. The independent bottler selects already matured rums from various distilleries. Its range covers well-known rum-producing countries such as Jamaica and Barbados, as well as less common origins such as Peru. The postage stamp motifs on the labels highlight each rum’s country of origin.

Dominicana comes from a distillery with modern equipment east of Santo Domingo. Mac Y Spirits handles the blending and bottling of this release.
