Special Features:

Don Papa 7 combines maturation in American oak bourbon and wine casks with the tropical climate of Negros. Distilled from molasses, the rum matures at the foot of the active volcano Mt. Kanlaon. The heat and high humidity encourage interaction between the wood and the spirit.

This seven-year-old rum has an amber colour and combines a smooth, full-bodied character with vanilla, honey and candied fruit. It can be enjoyed neat or in cocktails. This version has a German label and is offered at 40% alcohol in a bottle containing 0.7 litres without gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is lightly fruity, with sweet notes of candied fruit.
• Palate: Creamy vanilla takes the lead on the palate. Subtle honey and coconut notes complement the smooth, full-bodied feel, while a delicate spiciness contrasts with the sweetness.
• Finish: A gentle sweetness lingers through the long finish, bringing the rum to a harmonious close.

Distillery/Bottler:

Stephen Carroll founded Don Papa on Negros in 2012. The brand's home is in Negros Occidental, a sugarcane-growing region of the Philippines also known as Sugarlandia. The fertile foothills of Mt. Kanlaon provide the sugarcane used to produce the molasses on which the rum is based.

At Don Papa, molasses obtained from sugarcane is fermented and then distilled. The Master Blender brings the matured rums together into a blend. Alongside the origin of the raw material, blending is therefore an integral part of the brand's approach.
