Small, handcrafted American white oak bourbon casks shape this eighteen-year-old Flor de Caña Centenario. The rum matures at the foot of an active volcano in Nicaragua and is produced on a family estate that brings production and maturation together. Its long cask maturation gives it an oaky character and a particularly smooth finish. It is made without added sugar or artificial ingredients.

The design introduced in 2026 changes the presentation, not the rum. The redesigned bottles are 18% lighter than their predecessors. The packaging is fully recyclable, printed with plant-based inks and generates less paper waste during production. A wooden stopper reflects the maturation in American white oak; the green band represents the brand’s commitment to sustainability. This version contains 0.7 litres at 40% alcohol and comes in gift packaging.

The rum can be enjoyed neat or served over a large ice cube. Orange zest complements the serving over ice recommended by the producer.

Distillery/Bottler:

The history of Flor de Caña begins in 1890 with Alfredo Francisco Pellas Canessa. The entrepreneur from Genoa found the location for his rum project at the foot of San Cristóbal, near Nicaragua’s Pacific coast. Today, the fifth generation of the Pellas family runs the company. Cultivation, distillation and maturation at this location are part of the family estate’s history and working practices.

Flor de Caña uses entirely renewable energy for distillation. The CO₂ generated during fermentation is captured and reused, while solar energy powers the bottling process. The brand is certified Carbon Neutral: emissions across the entire life cycle, from field to market, are offset. Its environmental programme also includes planting 50,000 trees annually since 2005.
