Special Features:

Three successive cask types distinguish this Enmore EHP single-cask bottling. Distilled in 1998, the rum arrived in Great Britain that same year and initially matured there in former bourbon casks. It moved into Armagnac casks in April 2000, then into second-fill rum barrels in February 2008. This long period of continental maturation ended in 2024 after a total of 26 years.

The rum comes from the wooden, two-column Enmore Coffey still and bears the historic EHP marque. Dos Delinquentes is a joint project by Flensburg Rum Company and Wu Dram Clan; Enmore 1998/2024 was the first release in the series. The selected single cask yielded 204 bottles at a natural cask strength of 49.3%. The rum contains no additives, is not chill-filtered and comes in a 0.7-litre bottle.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose opens with yellow flowers and sweet pastries, including coconut confectionery and vanilla sponge cake. Praline notes and black tea with milk follow, before subtle earthy hints emerge.
• Palate: On the palate, coconut and vanilla sweetness combine with subtle glue and solvent notes. A yeasty impression remains noticeable in the background.
• Finish: The medium-length finish alternates between vinegar-like acidity and impressions of sugar cane and fruity sweets.

Distillery/Bottler:

Demerara Distillers Limited preserves several historic stills from former sugar plantations in Guyana. Among them is the Enmore still, which now operates at the Diamond complex. Unlike a pot still, this Coffey still distils continuously. Its two columns are made of durable Greenheart wood. Built in 1880 according to the Coffey principle, it is the last operational wooden still of this type. The EHP marque commemorates Edward Henry Porter, the former owner of the Enmore plantation.

Flensburg Rum Company is part of Oldman Spirits in Jübek. Under this brand, the company focuses mainly on unsweetened single-cask and small-batch rums, usually released at cask strength. Alongside its own cask warehouse, Oldman Spirits has established semi-automatic and fully automatic bottling facilities and also undertakes bottling work for other companies.

Wu Dram Clan is the work of Boris, Sebastian and Taksad. The trio first tastes cask samples independently before reaching a joint decision: a bottling goes ahead only if all three agree. Working with producers and selecting casks directly in their cellars are part of their approach. For Dos Delinquentes, they combine this cask selection with Flensburg Rum Company.
