Ron Millonario Número 15 Reserva Especial combines solera maturation with former bourbon and sherry casks. The rums it contains mature for up to 15 years; this does not give the bottling as a whole a single age statement. The spirit is bottled at 40% in a bottle containing 0.7 litres.

To mark the bottling's 20th anniversary, cask selection and blending were subtly adjusted. Its distinctly sweet, velvety character remains intact. The design also reflects its Peruvian roots: an embossed paper label echoes traditional weaving patterns and replaces the former straw wrapping. A stylised sun motif referring to Inti adorns the closure.

Número 15 represents the brand's 15 selection and quality criteria, covering everything from sugar cane to maturation and blending. The name Reserva Especial refers to the selection of rums for this bottling.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The aroma is intense, warm and velvety. Sultanas, dried figs, plums and dates meet dark sugar cane molasses and chestnut honey. A delicate bergamot note complements the rich bouquet, in which the alcohol is barely noticeable.
• Palate: On the palate, the spirit opens with a very sweet, soft, enveloping sensation, with vanilla, toffee, candied oranges and dates. Honey, sugar cane molasses and milk chocolate give it fullness, while a delicate balsamic mint note brings freshness. Hints of kola nut, cloves and herbal liqueur then emerge. The flavour continues to grow in intensity.
• Finish: The finish remains warm, velvety and enveloping. Its honeyed sweetness gives way at the end to a spicy note of red chilli and aromatic herbs.

Distillery/Bottler:

The history of Ron Millonario begins in Chiclayo in northern Peru. In 1904, farmers established the Hacienda Agrícola de Chiclayo there, with a small sugar refinery. The Piera de Castillo family acquired the estate and its sugar cane plantation in 1922. A sugar mill and a Scottish column distillation installation arrived in Peru in 1938 to expand processing and distillation.

Ron Millonario was created in 1950 under Augusto Piera de Castillo. The name recalls a time when few people could afford the rum. Fabio Rossi discovered it during a trip to Peru in 2004 and, together with his brother, helped bring the brand to international attention. Ron Millonario's rums mature at sea level; Reserva Especial Número 15 has been at the heart of the brand since the beginning of this international development.
